Add CarRentalList to Claude Code

  1. Run this in a terminal:
claude mcp add --transport http carrentallist https://mcp.carrentallist.com/mcp
  • Add --scope user to use it in every project, not only the current one.
  • Check with claude mcp list, or /mcp inside a session.

Check that it works

Ask “Use CarRentalList: what is the median daily rate of a Ferrari 296 in Las Vegas?”. Claude Code calls price_overview.

Every answer carries the date of the data (as_of) and links to the carrentallist.com pages of the cars and companies it mentions.

Troubleshooting

claude mcp list shows the server as failed
The machine needs outbound HTTPS to mcp.carrentallist.com; behind a proxy, set HTTPS_PROXY before starting claude.
The server is missing in another project
It was added with the default local scope; remove it and add it again with --scope user.

What it can answer

The server's tools cover cars with published daily rates, where a model can be rented, rate statistics, companies and their rental terms, catalog highlights, the monthly company ranking and exotic car news: see the tools reference and the example answers.
