Add exotic car rental data to ChatGPT

Add the free, read-only CarRentalList MCP server to ChatGPT and ask about exotic car rentals in the U.S.: published daily rates, where a model can be rented, and each company's terms. It answers from 3,485 cars at 167 independent companies in 34 states. No account and no API key.

Add CarRentalList to ChatGPT

  1. Open Settings → Apps & Connectors → Advanced settings and turn on Developer mode.
  2. Back in Apps & Connectors, choose Create. Name it CarRentalList, paste the URL https://mcp.carrentallist.com/mcp and set Authentication to No authentication.
  3. Confirm that you trust the connector and select Create. In a new chat, pick it from the + menu under Developer mode.

Check that it works

Ask “Which Miami exotic rental companies offer unlimited mileage?”. ChatGPT calls search_companies and lists the companies with their published terms and links.

Every answer carries the date of the data (as_of) and links to the carrentallist.com pages of the cars and companies it mentions.

Troubleshooting

There is no Create button
Developer mode is off: turn it on under Settings → Apps & Connectors → Advanced settings. It is not offered on every plan or workspace; a workspace admin may have to allow it.
The connector is not used in my chat
Start a new chat and add the connector from the + menu (Developer mode) before you ask.
Only search and fetch are used
That is ChatGPT's search mode: the server's search and fetch tools answer it. With developer mode every tool is available.

What it can answer

The server's tools cover cars with published daily rates, where a model can be rented, rate statistics, companies and their rental terms, catalog highlights, the monthly company ranking and exotic car news: see the tools reference and the example answers.
